Way to Nobel Chemistry Prize of an Israeli female scientist

October 7th is remarkable day in the career of Israeli chemist Ada Yonath.  She became the ninth Israeli Nobel laureate and the first female winner of Nobel Chemistry Prize during the past 45 years.

 A day before Israel celebrated its Children's Day, the 70-year-old chemist, renowned for her work on ribosome, shared with Xinhua several stories in her childhood, which not only showed a girl thirst for knowledge but also told the importance of reading for children.

Vietnam, Israel seek to further relations on various fronts

On 9 September afternoon, Israel-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group led by the Chairman Eli Aflalo met with Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Kien.

At the meeting, Kien highly appreciated the achievements of Israel, especially in the fields of science technology, environment and agriculture.

Kien highlighted improved bilateral cooperative relations on economics, culture, education and agriculture in recent past between the two countries. During the last few years, some agreements and cooperation memorandum on some fields have been signed.

An online seminar was held in Hanoi, Da Nang and HCM City on August 14 to discuss Israel's water treatment methods and guidelines to implement bilateral financial protocols. Over 200 companies in fields of waste water, water suppy, garment producing; aquaculture processing… attended the seminar at three places.
Israeli Ambassador Amnon Afrat said that nowadays Israel has become one of the leading nations in the world in terms of agricultural technologies with solutions for irrigation, intensive cultivation, greenhouses and water management.
